The Fieldhouse is everything you need to grow microgreens. Our grow tray design takes cues from commercial microgreen growers to ensure maximum yields and grow success.
The Fieldhouse consists of a few key features:
1. Bottom grow tray - sits at the base of the Fieldhouse, operating as a water reservoir, and has a front ramp for easy watering.
2. Top grow tray - this tray nests within the bottom reservoir tray and is where the coir (sustainable soil substitute made from shredded coconut fiber) and seeds are planted. This tray has holes so the coir and roots can absorb the exact amount of water they need.
3. Germination lid - microgreens require a weighted cover during the first 2-3 days after planting. Since the seeds are sown directly on top of the soil rather than underneath, the lid simulates the feeling of being buried. This also contributes to the speedy grow time for microgreens as they don’t spend time pushing up through the soil. Our germ lid also functions as a cutting board for the days when it’s not being used to grow.
4. LED grow light - on day 2-3 you’ll remove the germ lid and expose the sprouts to light. A full spectrum LED grow light sits tucked up within the roof shade, out of sight. The roof shade also helps to guide light towards the greens and reduces light bleed.
5. Control panel - the light is controlled by an On/Off button as well as a 12 hour timer setting.
With all of our seed varieties, you can begin harvesting on day 7-8! Planting a grow tray takes approximately 5-10 minutes and from there, all that the greens require is once daily watering (1 cup using the included glass measuring cup).
